Whimsy's Whimsical Wisdom

Tips, Advice & Our Love Story

Every little girl has done it. You've wrapped a towel around your head and pretended it was a veil. You've torn pages from bridal magazines and made collages of your dream wedding. You've imagined the flowers, the dress, the moment — that magical, once-in-a-lifetime day when everything is perfect and love is all that matters.

That dream never really goes away. And at Wed With Whimsy, we believe it shouldn't have to.

How We Got Here

Wed With Whimsy was born from a very real, very personal moment of clarity. With six friends and family members planning their weddings, I looked around and saw something beautiful — true love is still very much alive. And I knew I wanted to be part of making those fairy tales come true.

I'll be honest with you. I've had my own complicated relationship with love. One divorce later, I had quietly let go of the fairy tale for myself. But life has a funny way of surprising you. After 30 years apart, my true love found his way back to me — and he's been reminding me every single day that love is real, love is worth it, and love is worth celebrating.

That's what Wed With Whimsy is built on. Not just a store — but a belief.

What Makes Us Different

We're not your average wedding shop, and we never want to be. Here's what sets us apart:

  • Personal service, always. You can reach us by email or phone — a real person who genuinely cares about your day.
  • Unbeatable variety. We don't carry 10 dresses. We carry over 100 — and growing. From simple and intimate to grand and glamorous, we have something for every vision.
  • Better pricing. We believe your fairy tale shouldn't break the bank. We work hard to offer beautiful products at prices that make sense.
  • Something for everyone. Whether your wedding is small and sweet or big and breathtaking, we have everything you need from head to toe — for the bride, the groom, the wedding party, and the little ones too.

Our Mission to You

At Wed With Whimsy, our mission is simple: to give you the most beautiful, romantic, and unforgettable day of your life — exactly the way you've always imagined it.

We want every couple who shops with us to walk away with something they'll cherish for a lifetime. Not just a product — but a memory. A feeling. A piece of their fairy tale.

Because you deserve it. Every single bit of it.

With love and a little whimsy,
Jessica & the Wed With Whimsy Family 🤍

Whimsy's Wedding Wisdom — From "Yes!" to "I Do"

💍 Step 1: The Engagement — Soak It All In

  • Don't rush to plan. Give yourself at least 2-4 weeks to just celebrate being engaged!
  • Tell your closest people in person before posting on social media — those reactions are priceless.
  • Start a wedding folder or Pinterest board to collect inspiration without pressure.
  • Discuss your overall vision with your partner early — big wedding or intimate? Destination or local? Indoor or outdoor?

📋 Step 2: The Planning — Get Organized Early

  • Set your budget first — everything else flows from there. Be realistic and add a 10% buffer for surprises.
  • Create a guest list before booking a venue — your headcount determines everything.
  • Book your venue and photographer first, they fill up the fastest!
  • Give yourself at least 12 months to plan a larger wedding, 6 months for something more intimate.
  • Use a shared planning app or spreadsheet so both partners stay in the loop.

👗 Step 3: The Dress & Attire — Find Your Fairy Tale Look

  • Start dress shopping 9-12 months before your wedding — alterations alone can take 3-4 months.
  • Bring only 1-2 trusted people to dress appointments — too many opinions can overwhelm you.
  • Try on different silhouettes even if you think you know what you want — you might be surprised!
  • Don't forget the accessories — your veil, jewelry, gloves, and shoes complete the whole look.
  • Make sure your wedding party orders their attire at least 4-6 months in advance.

💐 Step 4: The Details — The Little Things That Make It Magic

  • Your bouquet sets the tone for your floral theme — choose it before ordering centerpieces.
  • Personalize with small touches — custom robes for getting ready, monogrammed gifts for your wedding party, and a guest book everyone will actually sign.
  • Don't forget the little ones! Flower girls and ring bearers need their outfits planned early too.
  • Create a wedding day timeline and share it with your vendors, wedding party, and family at least 2 weeks before.

💌 Step 5: The Invitations — Set the Tone

  • Send save-the-dates 6-8 months out, especially if guests are traveling.
  • Mail formal invitations 6-8 weeks before the wedding.
  • Include clear RSVP instructions and a deadline — give yourself a 2 week buffer before your venue needs final numbers.
  • Proofread everything twice — names, dates, addresses, and times!

👠 Step 6: The Week Before — Deep Breath, You've Got This

  • Confirm all vendors 48-72 hours before the wedding.
  • Pack an emergency kit — safety pins, stain remover, pain reliever, breath mints, and a sewing kit.
  • Get a good night's sleep the night before — easier said than done, but try!
  • Eat a real meal on your wedding day. Seriously. Don't skip it.
  • Designate a point person (coordinator, MOH, or trusted family member) to handle any day-of issues so you don't have to.

🥂 Step 7: The Big Day — Be Present & Enjoy Every Moment

  • Give yourself extra time in the morning — everything takes longer than you think.
  • Take a quiet moment alone with your partner right after the ceremony. Just breathe it in.
  • Eat, drink, and actually enjoy your reception — it goes by so fast!
  • Let go of anything that doesn't go perfectly. No one will remember the small hiccups, but everyone will remember how you made them feel.
  • Most importantly — have fun. This is YOUR day. Your fairy tale. Own every magical second of it.

At Wed With Whimsy, we're here for every step of your journey. From the first "yes" to the last dance, we've got everything you need to make your fairy tale come true. 🤍
